Elmer Elson students visit Mayerthorpe Auxiliary for wind-up BBQ

Posted on:

Elmer Elson Elementary School has a long and proud history of connecting with their community. One such connection is the school's inter-generational program in which Grade 5 students visit the Mayerthorpe Auxiliary regularly throughout the school year to read and socialize with residents.

The program aims to nurture community-mindedness and stewardship, broaden students' perspectives of their community and the individuals within their community and hone leadership and communication skills.

Residents and students alike enjoyed the afternoon BBQ and games signalling the end of the school year.
