Grade 8 students kicked off their Social Studies unit on Japan with a number of fun activities this past Friday.

Getting students excited about the upcoming unit  while experiencing some of Japan's cultural institutions were the goals for the day!

Students had the opportunity to make and eat sushi, sumo wrestle their bff and try their hand at a number of Japanese art forms like manga, origami, suminagashi and paper fan making.
