School Board Election 2021
Alberta School Board elections will take place on Monday, October 18, 2021!
Are you passionate about kids and public education? You may want to consider running for a school trustee position!
Albertans vote for their school board trustees as part of the municipal general elections once every four years.
If you are a new candidate, congratulations on making the leap into electoral politics. If you are running for re-election or you have run before, congratulations on seeking community representation once again. You are taking the first step in an important democratic process. School boards are important decision-making bodies, and your desire to take part in this process is crucial for their democratic function.
Nominations for the general election are open from January 1, 2021 until noon on nomination day, September 20, 2021.

How do I become a candidate?
Candidates must submit a completed Board Election Nomination Package to NGPS Division Office, located at 4816-49 Avenue in Whitecourt, or to one of the five schools indicated within the package, on nomination day, Monday, September 20, 2021, between 10 am and noon. A deposit of $50 in cash, certified cheque or money order must accompany the nomination. Candidate packages are available for pickup at the Division Office or can be downloaded here:
