Mental Health Awareness 2025: Unmasking Mental Health
Living with a mental health challenge is hard enough; masking can make it even harder. Living with mental health challenges often forces people to hide behind a “mask” to protect themselves from judgment and discrimination. But the heavier the stigma, the heavier the mask becomes, and the more isolated we feel.
This May, we’re joining people across Canada in encouraging each other to look beyond the surface and see the whole person. By embracing honesty and vulnerability, we open the door to deeper connections and the mental health benefits that come with it. In doing so, we can create a ripple effect of courage and understanding across the country.
Wednesday, May 7th is "Hats On! for Mental Health Day." Join us in wearing your favourite hat as a fun and visible way to spark conversations about mental health and to reduce stigma. It's a simple gesture that can make a big difference in showing solidarity and support.
Throughout the month, our schools and Mental Health Capacity Building teams will be engaging in various activities and initiatives aimed at promoting positive mental health and overall well-being.
