Jocelyn Breland accepts OAP Principalship

Northern Gateway Public Schools is pleased to announce Mrs. Jocelyn Breland as the new Principal for Oscar Adolphson Primary School (OAP), effective immediately.

Mrs. Breland has been a respected and valued member of the Oscar Adolphson Primary (OAP) team for over 20 years, joining OAP in 2001. She taught Kindergarten and supervised the Junior Kindergarten program before stepping into the Assistant Principalship for OAP and Harry Gray Elementary last June. Ms. Breland brings a wealth of leadership and early education experience to the position honed over her 28 years as an educator, and as OAP's Inclusive Education Facilitator. Throughout her career, Jocelyn has demonstrated a commitment to fostering school communities where students, staff and caregivers feel valued and encouraged.

NGPS Superintendent Kevin Bird commented, "Ms. Breland is an experienced, collaborative and hands-on leader. Her strong connections within the school and greater communities will continue to serve students, families and staff well."

Ms. Breland holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta.
