Hillside Jr/Sr High School students share pride in their culture and explore future learning and career opportunities at Indigenous Youth Empowerment Gathering in Calgary!

First Nations, Inuit, and Métis students, accomanied by Hillside educator Sharmaine Boman, spent three days exploring post-secondary and career options, and their Indigenous culture, through campus tours, motivational workshops, panel discussions, key speakers and an interactive tradeshow with industry professionals. They connected with employers, met Indspire Award recipients and learned about bursaries, and scholarships that support Indigenous achievement and education!

"To be able to connect with employers, post-secondary opportunities and celebrated keynotes through this culturally connected platform is an invaluable opportunity for our Indigenous learners and their school communities."

- NGPS Superintendent Kevin Andrea
